Minimum Experience
Description
For this project, we are looking for an experienced exploration geoscientist with 15+ years of experience in regional exploration and basin modeling, with a focus on rift-drift margins in the South Atlantic. Deep knowledge of syn- and post-rift stratigraphy, source facies distribution and thermal regimes is required. For basin modeling, we require proficiency in PetroMod (or equivalent), skills in burial history, maturity modeling, and source rock calibration.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working on 2D seismic data with limited well control. The objectives for this project will be to get a better understanding of the conditions required for good reservoir quality preservation, build a 2D stratigraphic model on selected lines, provide maps and scenario decks for viable reservoir preservation and petroleum system elements.
Duration
8 weeks, part-time, starting in mid-July
What You’ll Bring:
15+ years of experience in regional exploration and basin modeling
Expert Petrel user, skills in PetroMod or equivalent basin modeling tool. Experience with PaleoScan is a plus.
Comfortable integrating seismic facies, sediment supply trends, and analog depositional systems
Knowledge in South American offshore basin geology, experience with rift-drift margins in the South Atlantic
Required: able to work as part of a team of experts, collaborative, communicative, and comfortable contributing to shared interpretation and model iteration.
Required: Able to clearly communicate uncertainty ranges and geologic plausibility in written and visual formats.
