In the last five years, there have been many advances in oil & gas geoscience data and tools as the cloud, machine learning, and the data science discipline have matured. The same is happening in the geoscience mining space for that industry. For this assignment, we need one geoscientist familiar with these new digital concepts to research public sources on the latest tools, companies, and thinking for the geosciences in the mining industry. The outcome of this project will be a competitive analysis report that summarizes the companies in this space, the array of technologies being utilized, and hypotheses of what could be coming next. The project will be 2 weeks, starting mid-January.
