Data science competitions have become a popular way to develop skills, generate new concepts, and expose a community to unique problems in other disciplines.  Over the past few years, several geoscience competitions have sprung up, and more are on the way.  For this assignment, we need one geoscientist/data scientist to research these past competitions to understand the outcomes and their benefits/drawbacks.  The outcome of this project will be a report that details four competitions and addresses the data used, the types of models generated, and the products of the competition. The project will be 2 weeks, starting mid-January.

What You’ll Bring:

• >5 years geoscience experience

• Familiarity with cloud, data science concepts

• Have participated in data science competitions, of any subject, in the past
