Minimum Experience
We are looking for a group of diverse but complementary geoscientists and play generators that are comfortable thinking outside the box and are not afraid to challenge existing dogmas when identifying and maturing play ideas and creatively identifying potential petroleum systems. The ideal candidates will work as part of a team led by a team lead (see separate job description for the Team Lead role), integrating a variety of public and proprietary datasets of varying quality (poor to good) into a coherent petroleum system assessment.
The geoscientists will work collaboratively with the team to generate novel play concepts, challenging conventional thinking and moving beyond commodity knowledge of the AOI. Key deliverables underpinning these concepts will be play maps and sections, underpinned by data-driven observations and well articulated integrated petroleum system analyses. The project will primarily rely on published literature and other public information, but proprietary data will also be provided.
This project format may be replicated in different AOI’s with potential for follow on work for successful candidates.
What You’ll Bring:
15+ years of experience in regional and frontier exploration and play analysis
Experience working rift basins and salt desired
Background in evaluating extensional systems (rift basins, salt, clastic & carbonates,
syn- to post-rift) and familiar assessing and integrating hydrocarbon system elements
(should be expert in at least one)
Comfortable finding and working with published literature
Creativity and willingness to challenge dogmas
Experience using ArcGIS and Petrel
Comfortable working with cloud based virtual workstation and communication tools.
Ability to work virtually as part of a team under a team lead
