Minimum Experience

For some explorers, nothing beats the excitement of a new frontier. For this project, we’re looking for a geoscientist to perform an initial Play Based Exploration screening of a frontier basin in a passive margin that is expected to be clastic-dominated.

The project will include 2D seismic, minimal wells, and limited other data. The geoscientist will use these data to deliver:

  • Regional framework interpretation

  • Annotated play maps

  • Summary of play concepts and high-graded areas

  • Report summarizing findings

The project will be 12 weeks part-time, starting in September. Apply before the application closes August 26 at 5 pm CT/ 10 pm UTC.

What You’ll Bring:

  • > 15 years of experience exploring in multiple basins with diverse plays

  • Experience exploring offshore East Africa

  • Experience working in volcanic basins is a plus

  • Experienced with play based exploration and play analysis

  • Experienced with deepwater stratigraphy and 2D seismic interpretation

  • Comfortable working in frontier basins with sparse data and limited well control

  • Experienced Petrel use
