Description

We are seeking a motivated geoscientist to conduct a regional study to extend a tectono-stratigraphic framework from the Sabah Trough basin towards the Dangerous Grounds area, offshore Malaysia. The successful candidate will possess deep familiarity with this region's geology and be able to leverage their expertise to critically evaluate existing seismic data and interpretations. They will contribute valuable insights regarding the area's structural evolution and prospectivity.

Responsibilities

The geoscientist will work together with the client and deliver interpretations based on 2D and 3D seismic mapping and well data analysis, supplemented by other relevant datasets. However, most of the mapping will be done on 2D seismic data. Interpretations will include major surfaces and faults and will be used to identify structural domains and create qualitative 2D reconstructions. In addition, the geoscientist is expected to perform a high-level screening of opportunities.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 15+ years of experience interpreting and integrating seismic and well data

  • Expertise in structural interpretation and reconstruction; rift basin experience a plus

  • Experience working deepwater Sabah

  • Experience in the Philippines a plus

  • Familiarity extending existing interpretation work into sparse data, frontier areas

  • Comfortable working remotely with regular client check-ins.

Project Application closes on 30 April 2025 at 5pm CT / 10pm UTC.
