Description

We are seeking skilled experts across the range of subsurface disciplines Geophysics, Geology, Geomodeling, and Petrophysics to support exciting work at the frontier of subsurface AI development. This opportunity will pull on a deep foundational knowledge of your domain and benefit from adjacent experience in and knowledge of data science, machine learning and/or project (or productmanagement. Applicants will be required to be in-country or travel up to 50% for the duration of this long-term project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of foundational tools that will impact future subsurface workflows.

Requirements

• Does not currently hold a full time employed position

• Available to work in the UAE

  • Local to UAE or

  • Available travel to UAE up to 50% of project duration

What You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 15+ years of industry experience within the oil and gas industry as a geo specialist (e.g. geology, geophysics, petrophysics, geomodeling or combination of these)

• Preferred:

  • Product management, Product Owner, or Project Management experience building geologic software

  • Experience using and/or developing AI/ML interpretation tools

  • Middle East / Carbonate experience

  • Experience working for and with operators

• Demonstrable and extensive experience within one or more of the four target domains (Geophysics, Geology, Geomodeling, and Petrophysics)

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback

• Independent worker with good stakeholder management and and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency with standard subsurface software packages applicable to domain (e.g. Petrel)

• Experience in data science, Python programming, and Large Language Models (LLMs) is a plus

• Experience working with technical teams on software development projects is a plus
