12 Weeks
Part-time
End of August 2026
For this project, we’re looking for a senior subsurface geoscientist with practical experience in pore pressure prediction, vertical effective stress interpretation, and exploration prospect screening workflows. The XiR should be comfortable documenting expert geoscience workflows, clarifying assumptions and QC checks, and translating interpretation logic into practical requirements for software implementation.
The objective of this project is to support the definition, review, and validation of an automated Petrel-based workflow for portfolio-scale pore pressure and vertical effective stress screening. The XiR will work with ThinkOnward, sponsor technical representatives, and software developers to ensure the workflow reflects sound subsurface practice and is usable for exploration screening and prospect evaluation.
14-18 weeks, part-time, starting end of August 2026. The engagement is intended as a flexible expert advisory role, with time commitment adjusted based on project needs and XiR availability.
Locally competitive remuneration.
Senior-level experience in pore pressure prediction and subsurface pressure interpretation
Practical understanding of vertical effective stress, pressure-control points, and pressure-related screening logic
Familiar with exploration screening, prospect evaluation, geological risk assessment, and portfolio-scale lead or prospect maturation workflows
Experience with salt-related pressure systems or comparable complex pressure settings
Ability to explain expert workflows clearly and convert them into structured inputs, outputs, assumptions, QC checks, decision points, and software requirements
Preferred: familiarity with Petrel-based geoscience workflows, workflow automation or software development projects, Gulf of Mexico or other salt basins, and multidisciplinary subsurface teams
